Quantec Call Logger
This was a project taken on for a previous employer GD Systems (UK) Ltd. who are based in Heathfield.
Quantec is a call system that can be adapted for many uses with its main uses being for nurse call and staff attack alerting.
This software was requested to solve a problem where 7 panels in a hospital needed their data logging in one location and a verification that calls were transmitted to onsite pagers with that transmission being verified by a receiver.
There also needed to be a management package which could interrogate the database and generate reports in CSV and HTML.
This was written in C# using MySQL and the .NET connector.
Data came in via RS232. Ports were configured by an XML file dropped in the program directory.
Strings of data coming in would be checked and if correct, that information would be sent to the correct group of pagers. The software would then allow 5 seconds for that transmitted data to be forwarded via a paging transmitter and received back into the system via a receiver/decoder over RS232.
All data would be logged even if there was corruption due to noise.
