This was another project for GD Systems (UK) Ltd. This system alerts staff to potential faults and fires on multiple separate fire alarm systems in different buildings across a school site. Each fire panel is connected to a radio transmitter which relays its information to a central receiver/decoder. This is connected via RS232 to a Windows PC running this software. A number of clients connect to this PC via network using MySQL as the messenger.
The whole thing is written in C# using MySQL and the .NET Connector.
In the event of an alarm it will jump to the foreground of a client screen and stay there until the situation is rectified also sounding an audible alarm. As well as alarms and faults it also monitors 'test calls'. These are handshaking messages sent from transmitters to say 'I'm OK'. If these signals stop, the user will be alerted.
Data can also be exported in CSV and HTML format.
As this is a commercial closed source project, I can't post the code here.
Here is a video of the system running in a VM
